Culture and History

Until 1700, the château in Chlum u Třeboně was a fortress, after which it was converted into a single-storey château with a chapel. The château and its park are now in very poor condition and require extensive reconstruction.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Chlum u Třeboně was built between 1737 and 1745 in the High Baroque style. Glassmaking in the area around Chlum u Třeboně dates back to the mid-16th century; the glassworks at the present site were founded in 1891.

Nature

The Historická stezka Chlumem historical trail runs from the Hejtman – jih campsite past the château grounds and along the dam of Hejtman Pond, continuing via the Stations of the Cross past the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the school to the Dešťová zahrada community garden.
