Staré Hobzí: Hotels and Accommodation

At the eastern edge of Staré Hobzí, on the road to Jemnice, stands the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It preserves architectural elements from the Early Gothic, High Gothic, Late Gothic, Early Baroque and Neoclassical periods and documents the development of ecclesiastical architecture in the region from the 13th to the 18th century.

Culture

The château in Staré Hobzí stands on the site of a former fortress. It includes the Baroque Chapel of Saint Thomas; below the château stands a statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. There is also a statue of Saint Margaret next to the church in Staré Hobzí.

Nature

West of Staré Hobzí, on the banks of the Dyje, lie the Kameny přání. The sculpture, consisting of seven erratic boulders, was created by Lubo Kristek and is part of Kristkova podyjská glyptotéka.

The Mutenská obora is a regionally significant complex of old, near-natural deciduous forests with diverse ground flora and a varied bird and insect fauna.

Geographical Context

Loucký mlýn stands on the left bank of the Dyje, on the road from Staré Hobzí to Slavonice, northwest of the river bridge. It includes a stone millrace and a weir on the Dyje: the weir directs water into the channel, which carries it to the mill building and then back into the riverbed.
