In the central part of Dříteň stands a Baroque chateau with an adjoining agricultural area and public square. The local architectural heritage also includes the Church of Saint Dismas, built in 1691 by the Schwarzenberg architect Giacomo Antonio de Maggi. It is a Baroque octagonal central-plan building with a projecting western tower and a rectangular presbytery. The church is accessible during services.

Another historic building is the forge in Dříteň. The plastered masonry building has a rectangular floor plan, opens onto the work area of the entrance hall with a classical semi-elliptical arch, and is covered by a tiled gable roof. The former forge in Dříteň now houses the “Hospůdka na kovárně” restaurant.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Dříteň is a cultural monument dating from 1757 and originally stood at the chateau. A public performance of “Dracula” also took place at the Dříteň Chateau Cultural, Social and Educational Centre.

Nature and Landscape

Dříteň lies on the edge of the Hlubocká (Zbudovská) Basin, in a landscape of ponds and historic buildings. From the countryside around Dříteň, views extend as far as Blanský les and the Bohemian Forest.

The protected landscape includes Radomilická mokřina. Under Government Regulation No. 132/2005 Coll., it is a European Site of Community Importance with site code CZ0313116. By Regulation No. 30/2011 of the Council of the South Bohemian Region, Radomilická mokřina was designated a nature reserve. Within the municipality of Dříteň, areas in the cadastral territory of Záblatí form part of the Radomilická mokřina European Site of Community Importance.
