Culture

In Kobylinec, the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on a high rock above the Malše. It was created in 1882 to commemorate an averted flood and declared a cultural monument in 2006.

The rural farm complex No. 3 on the western outskirts of Plav has four wings and forms a significant urban-planning element of the municipality.

History

Beer was brewed in Plav from 1400 until the 16th century, which led to numerous disputes with the citizens of České Budějovice.

The burial mound site in Plav is located on a low elevation by the Malše and comprises approximately 35 burial mounds, which are up to 2 metres high at the western end.

Borovanský vrch mountain (Borovany-Dvorec u Třebče) is located in the vicinity of Plav. The mountains Kleť, Skalka and Trosky are located in the wider regional surroundings of Plav.

Cycling

The Velešín–Roudné cycle route leads through a meander of the Malše to the Plavské rechle. On a path above Plav, cyclists must push their bicycles to a viewpoint at the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.
