Droužetice: Hotels and Accommodation

Droužetice is located two kilometres north of Strakonice. Three burial mounds lie west of Droužetice; fragments of heavy vessels from the Hallstatt period were found there, the first reported archaeological find in the surrounding area.

Nature

The forest north of Droužetice offers good opportunities for relaxation. Dražský Pond is located in the cadastral territory of Droužetice. The Řepický stream crosses the northern part of the Droužetice area for a short stretch.

History and Culture

From 1398, Droužetice was a noble estate held by yeomen from Miloňovice. The manor fortress and Droužetice were burned down in 1467.

In Černíkov, several farmsteads, two small ponds and a chapel together form a classic South Bohemian rural settlement.

The Madonna of Droužetice was kept in the chapel of Droužetice from the 1940s and was donated to the museum in 1981. It comes from the Dominican monastery in Pilsen. The Madonna of Droužetice is a limewood carving and belongs to the Late Beautiful Style. The sculpture, created around 1410 during the Beautiful Style period, is housed in the collections of the Museum of Central Pootaví in Strakonice.

Transport

Road III/13914 runs through Droužetice and Černíkov north of Strakonice. The Březnice–Strakonice railway line runs along the eastern side of the municipality; the nearest stop is Řepice. There is a bus stop in both Droužetice and Černíkov.

Cycle route 1062 runs from Strakonice via Droužetice to Radomyšl. The cycling tour passes through Droužetice, uphill past the chapel, and then continues towards Podolí.
