Culture and History

The Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene stands in the village square in the centre of Horní Poříčí. It was built in the folk Baroque style and dates from 1830.

The heritage protection of the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene also covers the cross in front of the chapel and the associated grounds. Žižkův most is also protected as a cultural monument. The single-arch stone bridge probably dates from the 17th century.

The Kubešův beziehungsweise Šebestovský Mill dates from around 1700. Today, it is used for recreational purposes as Pension Kubešův mlýn. A wayside crucifix is recorded in the direction of Střelské Hoštice.

Nature and Trails

The Kněží hora educational trail ends in Horní Poříčí at the foot of Katovická hora, by the Březový potok signpost. The 20 km route “Za perlou Otavy” runs between Strakonice and Střelské Hoštice through Horní Poříčí.

The Otavská cyklistická cesta No. 1066 runs along the Otava. The Otava is used for sport fishing and water sports.
