History

Hůry was originally called “Německé Hory”. In the past, the inhabitants of Hůry made their living from agriculture.

The Chapel of St. Florian stands on the slope in the village square of Hůry. Its façade bears the year 1865.

The former powder magazine in Hůry was part of a military complex that had existed since the 18th century and supplemented the fortification system of České Budějovice.
