Včelná: Hotels and Accommodation

Včelná lies on the hilly Rožnovský les forest and is largely surrounded by woodland. At the same time, the town is located not far from the Vltava River.

Culture and History

The “Na rozloučenou” niche chapel in Včelná is dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. It dates from the first half of the 19th century; in 2004, the chapel was reconsecrated and the saint’s statue was restored.

The private Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Včelná is a pseudo-Baroque chapel with a small bell tower. It was built in 1900 by the family of Karel Černý and the Vycpálek family from Plzeň.

The settlement of Včelná arose spontaneously in 1784 along the new Imperial Road from Budějovice to Linz. Guardhouse No. 3 in Včelná is, counting from the northernmost point of the Czech section of the horse railway, the second guardhouse still preserved today.

Nature and Trails

The “Kolem mohyl” hiking trail is considered moderately difficult to very demanding. In a northerly direction, the trail offers a view of the České Budějovice valley; it also passes the last representative haciendas of Včelná.

Leisure

Tikalka Leisure Park includes a multi-purpose sports field, a skatepark, a workout area and table tennis. The leisure park has an online reservation system.

The “Včelná–Rožnov” cycle path is located in the cadastral area of Včelná and runs from the Včelná–Pod tratí stop towards České Budějovice.

Getting There

Včelná railway station is on line 196 between České Budějovice and Summerau. Včelná is also within the area covered by the city’s public transport network.
