History and Villagescape

The monument still standing in the village of Horní Němčice was erected in 1928; it commemorates the tenth anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia and those who fell in the First World War. A bust of T. G. Masaryk can be seen in its upper part.

The ridge between the Studenský potok and the Bolíkovský potok in Horní Němčice forms the main European watershed between the Danube and the Elbe.
