Culture

Frahelž is home to the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk. A traditional communal singing event takes place at the chapel.

The history of Frahelž dates back to the 14th century; the first written mention dates from 1549. The former mill near Frahelž is also part of local tradition: it is associated with the tradition that Jan Žižka was treated there.

Nature

The Lužnice borders Frahelž on its eastern side. Its floodplain includes old remnants of the original river course, alluvial forests and floodplain meadows. The Nadějská soustava Site of Community Importance (EVL) is also located in Frahelž.

Hůrka Mountain is located in the wider regional surroundings of Frahelž. In the immediate vicinity are the U Lůsů hill [Ponědrážka], the (Na Čihadle) hill [Klec] and the (Vyšné) hill [Val u Veselí nad Lužnicí].
