Pravetín: Hotels and Accommodation

The Pravětín – Skláře – Veselka heritage zone protects a continuously developing, agriculturally shaped cultural landscape. Its preserved parcel structure is considered valuable evidence of medieval settlement in the area surrounding Vimperk. In the western and northern parts of the cadastral area of Pravětín, the radial strip-field layout, including the parcel divisions, has been preserved to a considerable extent. The cultural landscape of the heritage zone also offers an unobstructed view of the Boubín Massif.

Cycling

The “Údolím Pravětínského potoka” cycling route reaches Pravětín via Táflová Huť and then continues along the Pravětínský potok stream towards Vimperk. It is 29 km long and marked with red tourist trail signs. The route follows paved paths, roads and forest tracks; it takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Other routes

The “Pravětínský okruh” Nordic walking route runs away from heavily trafficked roads, mostly through the open countryside and partly through the settled area of Pravětín and two holiday-home settlements.

The Vimperská lesnická naučná stezka educational trail is approximately 13 km long and has 30 information boards in three language versions. Its starting point is located in the vicinity of the Pravětín settlement.

Gold-washing tailings heaps have been preserved along the Pravětínský potok stream.

History and Culture

Pravětín was burned down during the Hussite Wars and subsequently rebuilt. The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Pravětín’s village square.
