Vlachovo Brezí: Hotels and Accommodations
Vlachovo Březí combines a history shaped by historical developments with architectural and commemorative sites. The settlement was elevated to a market town in 1538 and to a town in 1868. Vlachovo Březí is also designated as a heritage zone.
Culture and History
Every year, the large Svatodušní pouť pilgrimage takes place around the transition from May to June. Another historic site is the Jewish Cemetery in Vlachovo Březí, which contains around 200 gravestones, the oldest of which dates from 1729. The cemetery is freely accessible.
The Panský pivovar brewery was founded around 1670 and operated until 1924. The pilgrimage chapel of sv. Ducha contains fourteen relief-like wooden carvings depicting the Stations of the Cross. The Way of the Cross to the pilgrimage site of sv. Ducha leads uphill and includes a Calvary group and fourteen chapels.
The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Vlachovo Březí dates from the mid-17th century and was built by Karel Leopold, Count of Millesimo.

Vlachovo Březí Castle is currently unused and not open to the public. The ground floor contains original two-metre-thick stone masonry as well as barrel vaults in the Romanesque style. Stucco ceilings in the Baroque style have been preserved on the first floor.
The former forge “Bývalá kovárna” in Vlachovo Březí is a residential and farm building. Its southern gable features volute wings and stucco decoration typical of Jakub Bursa.
