Radkov: Hotels and Accommodation

The entire area around Radkov is characterised by agriculture; there is no significant industry. At the northwestern edge of the Radkov area, the Leštinský potok flows through a steep-sided, wooded valley, forming a valuable natural axis and a local biocorridor. In the east of the Radkov area, a gorge carved by the Radkovský potok forms the boundary; it has a similar function and significance within the ÚSES system. The Radkovský potok is part of the Líderovice watercourse network.

Radkov u Tábora is considered an archaeological area with documented or reasonably presumed archaeological finds. Radkov’s origins are associated with the 13th century; written records exist only from the beginning of the 15th century. Jícha z Radkowa is considered the first known man from the settlement; he embraced Hussite teachings and moved to Tábor with several other inhabitants.

Radkov’s protected immovable cultural monument is House No. 17, built predominantly of wood. It is a two-storey building constructed mainly using timber, with an elongated rectangular floor plan. Standing in the centre of Radkov beside the chapel on the village green, the monument commemorates those who fell in the First World War.

Several well-marked hiking trails pass through the Radkov area. In 2012, the international Prague–Vienna Greenways cycling route ran along the road from Radkov to Kostelec. The “Krajinou srdce” cycling route leads to the junction before Radkov, where it turns west onto Road III/1233 towards Radkov.

Radkov has been a member of the Společenství obcí Čertovo Břemeno association of municipalities since 2004. At the same time, Radkov is one of the five municipalities in the northern part of South Bohemia that belong to the Čertovo Břemeno association of municipalities.
