Nature

The Malše forms part of the cadastral boundary of Staré Hodějovice. The Tůně u Špačků Nature Reserve protects remnants of the Malše’s original meandering riverbed in the floodplain, as well as small flooded sand pits. Rare and protected plant and animal species occur in the nature reserve, including, in particular, a population of bitterling (Rhodeus sericeus). A crack willow (Salix fragilis) is located in Staré Hodějovice.
