Culture and Village Character

The chapel of “Our Lady – Mediatrix of All Graces”, built in 1949, stands in Vrbice. Its picturesque decoration was created by Alois Martan; the chapel underwent extensive reconstruction in 2012. The chapel’s pilgrimage takes place on 8 May.

Local customs take place in the park around the chapel in Vrbice. These include erecting a maypole, commemorating the burning of Master Jan Hus, and decorating a Christmas tree. At Easter, boys and girls walk through the village of Vrbice with wooden rattles.

A timber-framed house with a wooden arcade is particularly striking on the village square in Vrbice.

The blue hiking trail “Klostermannova cesta” leads from Volyně via Javorník to Kašperské Hory. The “Krajem pod Javorníkem” excursion route also includes Vrbice as a stage. The “Krajem pod Javorníkem” route is accessible on foot and to experienced cyclists.

The landscape around Vrbice offers interesting views of the Boubín, Bobík and Javorník hills. The swimming pool and Rohanov campsite are located in the vicinity of Vrbice.
