Culture

The Church of St. Martin is a Baroque building constructed between 1672 and 1691. Its bell tower features a restored viewing platform offering views across Blansko and the surrounding region.

The Poledník bell in the Church of St. Martin probably dates from the early 13th century and is probably one of the oldest bells in Moravia.

The wooden church is the oldest church of the Transylvanian–Marmaros, or Ruthenian Gothic, type in the Czech Republic. It is one of six wooden churches brought to the Czech Republic from Carpathian Ruthenia and originates from Nyzhni Selyschtsche.

Galerie města Blanska organises guided tours with commentary as well as creative workshops for children and adults. The series of folk concerts “Music for Caroline” also takes place in the castle courtyard in July and August.

Nature

The Palava recreation area includes an artificial reservoir with a diving board and a jetty; swimming is possible at your own risk. In 2026, public access to the recreation area is significantly restricted due to ongoing revitalisation works.

International cycle route 5, the Amber Trail, passes through Blansko on the Brno–Adamov–Blansko–Ostrov–Sloup section.

Mount Jedla is located in the immediate surroundings of Blansko. The mountains of Babí Lom, Paní hora and Stádla are also located around Blansko.

The Brno Zoo is located in the wider regional surroundings of Blansko. The named ruins of Kuchlov and Hrádek, as well as the Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války memorial, are also located there.
