Strážnice: Hotels and Accommodation

The “Mezinárodní folklorní festival Strážnice” festival takes place regularly every year on the last weekend in June.

The Strážnice Open-Air Museum features folk architecture dating from the 18th century onward. It presents wine-growing buildings and their furnishings, as well as a vineyard illustrating viticulture from its earliest days to the present. Events and programmes showcase, among other things, pottery, weaving on a loom, the traditional craft of glove-making, basket weaving and the production of krpce. The 16-hectare site contains more than 60 interesting buildings and other exhibits.

The Strážnice Synagogue houses the permanent exhibition “Žíli mezi námi” on the history of Strážnice’s Jewish population. At the Strážnice Synagogue, visitors can see the interior, exhibitions on Jewish themes and the Jewish cemetery.

The Strážnice Town Museum presents permanent exhibitions on local history, nature, associations, postcards, furniture, ceramics and blue-printing. From a height of almost 20 metres, the Strážní bílá věž offers a special view of the town of Strážnice, the Pomoraví region and the surrounding landscape.

Hotařská búda houses a small viticulture exhibition. Wine tastings take place among the barrels in the historic cellars of Zámecké sklepy.

The Osypané břehy nature reserve is located 3 km northwest of the town of Strážnice. It covers an unregulated stretch of the Morava River with three pronounced meanders and adjoining forests.

At the Strážnice harbour on the Baťův kanál, small boats and cabin boats can be rented. Regular sightseeing cruises by boat are offered from Strážnice harbour to the harbour in Petrov.
