Hovorany: Hotels and Accommodation

“Hovoranskými vinohrady za vínem” is an approximately 5 km circular route around Hovorany, suitable for pedestrians and cycling tourists. Along the route, at least 20 wineries offer a selection of their own wines. The accompanying programme includes male choirs and an evening programme with the Rubáš cimbalom band from Buchlovice.

The wine cellar of Vinařství Machalínek is located in the Hluboká cesta cellar area in Hovorany. Wine tastings with expert commentary take place there.

Na Benátkách in Hovorany is a wine-cellar lane with a viewpoint overlooking the picturesque wine cellars; it is located directly by Hovoranský rybník. The wine cellars of Na Benátkách are reflected in the surface of the local pond. The cellar lane offers wine tastings and seating.

The traditional wine event “Den otevřených sklepů” in Hovorany gives visitors the opportunity to visit up to 25 wineries and taste a total of more than 300 wines. It also includes guided tours of wineries with commentary, singing groups, performances by winemakers’ children and evening entertainment.

The 2026 Hovoranské hody in Hovorany was a five-day festival featuring folklore, music and traditional costume customs. It included the erection of the maypole, processions in traditional costumes and evening entertainment.

The Church of St John the Baptist in Hovorany was built between 1721 and 1725 by expanding an early Baroque chapel dating from 1670. It is a single-nave Baroque building with a distinctive prismatic tower on the west façade.

The Hovorany Museum is housed in a listed building featuring typical folk architecture and a painted façade. It displays historical artefacts relating to domestic life, agriculture, mining, viticulture and local crafts. It also includes an exhibition about the local artist, academic sculptor and medallist Václav Adolf Kovanič.

The Church of the Redeemer of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Hovorany dates from 1957. The painted Chapel of St Roch in Hovorany dates from 1834.

The Hovoranské louky protected area is located in the vicinity of Hovorany, approximately 1.5 km northwest of the municipality in the direction of Karlín. Hovoranské louky forms part of the European Natura 2000 network for nature conservation and protects steppe and dry grassland communities with rare, endangered and protected plant species.
