Jamolice: Hotels and Accommodations

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary has a Romanesque core that probably dates from the second half of the 13th century. The Templar Order settled in Jamolice in 1232 and initially established a church with a parish there.

The Templštejn castle ruins are located on a spur of the plateau above the right bank of the Jihlávka, about 2 km northwest of Jamolice. They are an important archaeological site. Templštejn Castle, together with an outer fortification, was built between 1281 and 1298 and abandoned after the mid-16th century.

After 1281, Bishop Theodorich began construction of Templštejn Castle on the right bank of the Jihlávka, about 2 km west of Jamolice. Templštejn, the village of the same name, as well as Jamolice, Dobřínsko, Řeznovice, and Biskoupky formed a special estate belonging to the so-called commandery of the religious military order.

IDS-JMK bus route 441 connects Moravský Krumlov, Jamolice, Dukovany, Rouchovany, and Hrotovice. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Jamolice to Templštejn Castle.

The Údolí Jihlavy Natura 2000 site protects sub-Pannonian steppe grasslands, running waters of lowland to upland areas with corresponding aquatic vegetation, Pannonian rocky grasslands, semi-natural dry grasslands and scrub complexes on calcareous substrates, the vegetation of siliceous rock and steep slopes, and oak-hornbeam forests.

In the immediate vicinity of Jamolice are the Templštejn ruins and the Chapel of St. Peter and St. Paul. The hills of Záklaty [Jamolice] and Vrabčí kopec [Jamolice] are also located nearby. The Rabštejn ruins and Mount Leskoun are located in the vicinity of Jamolice. Further afield in the region are Brno Zoo and Babí hora.

The Tradiční rozmarýnové hody in Jamolice was scheduled for 14–16 August 2026 as a music event featuring brass music and dance entertainment. The Pytlácká stezka in Jamolice was scheduled for 29 August 2026 as an event for sports and active leisure, featuring archery and hiking.
