Culture and History

The Tučapy bell tower originally had two bells. The original old municipal office was located in the right-hand half of today’s inn. The coat of arms of the Diocese of Olomouc is still displayed on the wall of today’s inn.

From 1869, the building next to the original old municipal office housed a school. After the new school was built, it became the municipal office; it still serves this function today. The new two-class school building was constructed between 1884 and 1886 and, after minor alterations, continues to serve practically to this day as a school building.

Tučapy is also associated with Jaroslav Kratochvíl, who was a historian and artist. He was born on 17 January 1885 in Tučapy near Vyškov in Moravia.

Local Life

The “Pod lípou” inn in Tučapy has a bar, approximately 60 seats and a garden. The Tučapy Municipal Library provides rooms for small-group meetings. At the GulášFest in Tučapy, goulash dishes were judged and then sold.
