Culture and History

On the western, historic side of Lipůvka are St Cecilia’s Church, the adjoining park, and the cemetery. Today’s St Cecilia’s Church was built in 1749 and completed the following year.

Regular services, worship services, and prayers take place in the church. The Krojované hody in Lipůvka are associated with the feast day of St Cecilia’s Church on 22 November. During this celebration, the stárci, accompanied by a brass band, parade through Lipůvka to invite neighbors to an evening dance in the municipal office hall. The Sunday program includes a Hodová Mass at St Cecilia’s Church.

Nature and Trails

The “Lipůvecká” educational trail is located in the cadastral areas of Hořice, Dolní Lhota, and Lipůvka and takes approximately three hours of leisurely walking. Its route through these three cadastral areas lies in the Blansko District.

The “Lipůvecká” educational trail passes the “Hančina studánka” spring, where visitors can refresh themselves with spring water from the forests around Brno.

Cycling

The shared pedestrian and cycle path between Lipůvka and Nuzířov begins at the cemetery on the western edge of Lipůvka, initially runs west and then northwest parallel to Road II/379, and ends at the cadastral boundary between Lipůvka and Nuzířov on a farm road.

The Lipůvka–Lažany cycle path opened on 14 August 2010. The project for a cycle path between Kuřim and Lipůvka has been completed; the planned cycle path was to connect to the existing cycle network.
