Svetla: Hotels and Accommodations

Světlá combines preserved evidence of rural architectural history with a distinctive landscape setting. Several buildings of the former estate have been preserved; it was founded in 1563 by the abbot of Hradisko Monastery. The former estate was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1721.

Geographical Setting

The cadastral territory of Světlá lies in the Boskovická brázda geological depression and is bordered to the east by the rising hills of the Drahanská vrchovina highlands.

Culture and Local History

The preserved buildings include a group of log barns from the 18th century as well as several farmsteads dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary dates from 1872 and was reconstructed in 1996.

The monuments in the village also have their own history: The monument to Emperor Franz Joseph I was reconstructed and subsequently reinstalled in Světlá. The monument to František Palacký was restored by a local resident in the 1970s. The “Starý kříž” stands beside a country lane approximately 250 m west and below Světlá.

Events

Světlá’s regular local events programme includes the “Běh Světlou” run. The “Okolo Malé Hané 2025” cycling tour included a refreshment stop at the event grounds in Světlá.

Regular fish harvests take place at the ponds behind the municipal office and in the centre of Světlá. The Světelská pouť, held from 16 to 18 August 2025, was scheduled to include football, the ABC dance event, a Sunday country gathering and the programme item “útok žáků”.

Transport and Surroundings

Bus route 251 operates between Jevíčko and Skalice nad Svitavou via Velké Opatovice, Světlá and Boskovice. Route 680794 operates between Moravská Třebová and Brno via Jevíčko, Světlá and Boskovice.

At the time of publication, there was neither a designated cycle route nor a marked hiking trail in the cadastral territory of Světlá. The forests around Světlá invite visitors to take long walks and offer mushrooms as well as wild forest berries.
