Culture and history

The bell tower in Nenkovice was built in 1912. Its sgraffito decoration was created by the academic painter Jano Kóhler.

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Nenkovice was created by converting a former funeral hall and was consecrated on 20 July 1997 by Vicar General Jiří Mikulášek. It includes a Stations of the Cross ensemble created in 2014 by the woodcarver Josef Zelinka from Šitbořice. A pilgrimage to the chapel takes place on the Sunday after the Feast of the Assumption (15 August).

Nature and landscape

The Sovince protected area is located in the cadastral territory of Nenkovice. It protects thermophilous steppe communities on shallow to moderately deep calcareous soils, with numerous thermophilous plant and animal species.

The Na Adamcích area is home to sub-Pannonian narrow-leaved dry grassland communities (Festucion valesiacae) and broad-leaved dry grassland communities (Bromion erecti), as well as rare and endangered plant species. The Nynek multipurpose water reservoir serves to retain water in the landscape and protect against flooding.
