In the center of Kelčany village square stands the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It dates from 1817 and was reconstructed in 2013.

The historic wooden cross near Chrást is registered as a cultural monument. It is made of oak, is approximately 5.5 m high, and has stood there since 1810. Three lime trees at the site of the cross were declared memorial trees in 2005.

The “Kelčanský svátek” is a traditional local celebration in Kelčany: the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, accompanied by a procession.

Village Character

The Kelčanské búdy are a row of wine cellars in the northern part of Kelčany, lining the main road between Kyjov and Žádovice.

At the Kelčany row of wine cellars, cellar owners offer wine tastings with gastronomic specialties.

Landscape

The “Cesta Podchřím” route is easy and approximately 12 km long.

The “Cesta Podchřibím” route offers numerous special viewpoints and places to rest. Depending on the direction, it begins or ends in Kelčany at the wooden cross by the Chrást forest.
