Domanín: Hotels and Accommodation
In Domanín, sacred art, Baroque architectural history, traditional customs and the history of viticulture come together. At the centre of Domanín stands Domanínský dvůr, a three-winged Baroque building. Its architectural form dates from 1672–1678; following the Tatar invasion of Moravia, the estate was restored between 1672 and 1678. The estate’s historical activities included growing cereals, pulses, hemp and grapevines, as well as keeping livestock.
Culture and Architecture
The Church of Saint Wenceslas (Kostel sv. Václava) was built between 1786 and 1788 and consecrated on 16 November 1788. It contains five paintings by Ignác Raab, including four scenes from the life of Saint Bernard, and has three bells; the oldest dates from 1794. The wooden mission cross at the entrance was made in 1949. Near the church in Domanín stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, a stone work by an unknown artist from 1803. The iron cross in Domanín is considered the oldest of the Domanínské kříže and bears the year 1768.
