Uhřice: Hotels and accommodation

The Čejč–Uhřice Erlebnisbahn offers family rides on the historic M240 railcar. During the ride, children can look into the driver's cab and have their photo taken at the driver's console at the station. The Erlebnisbahn railway park includes bouncy castles, a small chain carousel, creative activities, a model railway, as well as a sand-play area and a ball-play world.

Family activities

Uhřice Aquapark is equipped with a lifting device that enables people with reduced mobility to access the swimming pool. It has a swimming pool with a lane for fitness swimming, a children's paddling pool, a slide, two additional water slides, massage benches, jets and loungers, water fountains, a water wall, and a volleyball court for CZK 100 per hour.

Culture

The Church of St John the Baptist in Uhřice is a Gothic-Renaissance building from the first half of the 14th century. The church contains a clay tabernacle which, according to experts, is considered a Habán work from the end of the 16th or the beginning of the 17th century. Beneath the floor in the centre of the building lies a presumably vaulted crypt with a square floor plan and allegedly four-metre sides; it is said to contain three coffins, as well as the remains of a cross and a rosary.

On the village square in Uhřice, opposite house number 99, stands a high-quality Rococo sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk. It was probably created in the third quarter of the 18th century in the art workshop of O. Schweigl.

History

The “Setkání dvou císařů” memorial in Uhřice commemorates the meeting of Napoleon I Bonaparte with Francis I of Austria on 4 December 1805 after the Battle of Slavkov. An obelisk surrounded by four lime trees stands on the site.

An information board was installed at the entrance to the Janův Dvůr site in 2002. It shows maps of the surrounding area as well as a plan of the battlefield between Brno and Slavkov.
