Bynovec: Hotels and accommodation

Bynovec lies in the valley of the Bynovecký potok. The entire municipal area of Bynovec lies within the Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area; the Čabel Nature Reserve lies east of the village.

Château and local history

The Baroque Bynovec Château was built between 1703 and 1709, probably at the request of František Karel Clary-Aldringen, as a summer residence with one wing. It was built around 1700 on the site of a former farmstead on the northern side of the village. The château included a vaulted chapel and an ornamental garden with a fountain. An avenue approximately 4 km long once led from the château to Belveder.

Bynovec originated as an originally German clearance settlement; its foundation is probably dated to the 13th century.

Nature and hiking trails

In the vicinity of Bynovec lies Slunečná brána, a large sandstone rock window in a small rock town. The sandstone formations at Slunečná brána can be reached from Bynovec via the green-marked hiking trail.

A circular trail approximately 10 km long leads from Bynovec via Slunečná brána to Děčín and back via Růžová vyhlídka. One hiking route leads to Bynovec using bus lines 432 or 435 and then continues along the red-marked hiking trail to Labská Stráň.

Cycling route

A cycling route approximately 40 km long from Děčín to Hřensko leads via Janov, Arnoltice and Bynovec onward to Slunečná brána. The route is moderately difficult and requires a mountain bike.

Cultural monuments and works of art

The cross recorded in the cadastral area and municipality of Bynovec has been protected as a cultural monument since 10 May 2025. According to a chronogram, a wayside cross in Bynovec was restored in 1910. The so-called stone crosses beside the district road from Bynovec to Růžová, built in 1923, date from 1778.

In the centre of Bynovec stands the Baroque sandstone sculpture of the Immaculata, a cultural monument. A plaque that is no longer present on the sculpture recorded its erection on 6 October 1724 for the veneration of Saint Mary. The Calvary group in Bynovec is dated to 1764 based on the chronogram on its pedestal and the municipal chronicle.

The life-size sandstone group of the Pietà, which stands in Bynovec today, dates from 1734; it was previously located in a pine forest on the road to Růžová. The lower part of the Bynovec Bildsäule Boží muka bears the engraved year 1812. The pedestal of the sculpture is decorated with relief ornamentation, floral and grape festoons, and geometric details on the side surfaces.
