Labská Stráň: Hotels and Accommodation

Belvedér is located in the municipality of Labská Stráň and offers views from a rocky terrace of the Elbe Canyon, Dolní Žleb, the table mountains Zirkelstein and Kaiserkrone, the rocky spur of the Schrammsteine, and Großer Winterberg. The site features a tiered sandstone terrace with a Sala terrena, a tall arcade, and the coat of arms of the Clary-Aldringen family; it was established during the early Romantic phase of tourism. From Labská Stráň, it can be reached via a red-marked hiking trail.

Cycling

The basic Markvartice–Růžová–Labská Stráň–Markvartice cycling circuit passes through Labská Stráň; it is 30 km long.

Nature

The Idagrotte cave, Gohrisch mountain, Dobrná mountain, and Diebskeller cave are located in the vicinity of Labská Stráň.

Culture and History

The archaeological site contains documented archaeological finds or finds that can reasonably be expected. The archaeological site lies in the municipalities and cadastral areas of Hřensko and Labská Stráň and relates to the built-up area of Labská Stráň as well as the rocks on its western and southwestern sides.

The beginning of settlement in Labská Stráň is presumed to date to the medieval colonization period; the first reliable written mention dates from 1614.

The Comiteebruch and Elbleiten Comitte quarry complex lies in the upper part of the canyon below the terrace with the municipal quarries of Labská Stráň. It illustrates sandstone quarrying in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. The historic site of Hirniskretzschen is located in the immediate vicinity of Labská Stráň.

In the wider regional area around Labská Stráň are Hohnstein Castle, the castle ruins of Stadt Wehlen, and Hrad Střekov.
