Zálužice: Hotels and accommodations

Zálužice is defined by its distinctive buildings. The landmark of the village is a three-span reinforced-concrete bridge over the Ohře, built in 1934 and extensively reconstructed in 2010 and 2011. At the southern edge stands a Baroque chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk, which was remodelled in the 19th century.

Culture and village character

On the outskirts of Zálužice, Farm No. 6 displays features of vernacular Baroque architecture. Further evidence of the region’s architectural and artistic history can be found in Rybňany: opposite the farm stands a damaged Baroque statue of Saint Barbara from 1719 on a double pedestal.

Stekník and the château

The historic centre of Stekník has been preserved to this day in its original Baroque form. Since the Czech Ministry of Culture’s Decree No. 249/95 of 22 September 1995, Stekník has been a village heritage conservation area; at the time, it was the only village heritage conservation area in the former Louny District.

Stekník Château is one of the most important Rococo buildings in Bohemia and is surrounded by an Italian-style terraced garden. The restored interiors of the château are open to the public. The visitor tour presents the château as it was during the time of its last private owner, the family of Swiss consul Gerold Déteindre. A historical tour of the area around Stekník Château also explores the history of the village and château and provides information about important personalities and monuments of the region.

Rybňany’s agricultural heritage

A valuable agricultural complex with residential buildings, a barn, a drying facility and stables has been preserved in Rybňany. It also includes a group of barns dating from the early 19th century. Another notable feature is a distinctive conical icehouse, a particularly rare type of structure in the region.

Hop fields

The “Cestou chmele” trail leads through hop fields in the area of the Hop Research Institute.
