Libočany: Hotels and Accommodation
The Church of All Saints in Libočany is a single-nave church with a two-towered western façade and an richly decorated façade. Its vaults are covered with frescoes depicting scenes from the lives of the saints by J. V. Tschopper. The building was constructed from roughly hewn sandstone blocks; the blocks are arranged in regular horizontal courses and separated from one another by a narrow intermediate layer of red sandstone. The organ of the Church of All Saints has two manuals and thirteen stops and is considered the first known organ architecture with five cases in Czechia.
Culture and History
The earliest records of Libočany date back to 1226; at that time, the place belonged to the Doksany Monastery estate. The Libočany Cultural Centre was ceremonially opened on 7 July 1928 and built on the foundations of former brewery cellars.
The old granary, known as the Špýchar, dates from 1602. The Baroque granary is a stone building with a Baroque gable and still serves its original purpose today. The historic smithy in Libočany dates from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Notable People
Václav Hájek z Libočan was born in Libočany. The music publisher E. Wetzler came from Libočany. The writer and first Czech female senator Božena Viková-Kunětická (1862–1934) spent the last twelve years of her life in Libočany.
Nature and Routes

The Podbořany–Žatec–Podbořany cycling route is 54.2 kilometres long, easy, and suitable for road bikes and trekking bikes; it passes through Libočany. In addition, a blue-marked tourist route for pedestrians and cyclists leads from Žatec to Libočany.
Practical Information
The Libočany Museum is closed in 2026. The château in Libočany is not open to the public. As part of the Hájkovo pochod, the château was opened to the public once a year.
