Nové Mesto Na Morave: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of St. Kunigunde is the oldest monument in the town’s history and, as a distinctive landmark, dominates the town square. It combines Gothic and Baroque elements with sgraffito decoration by local artist Karel Němec. House No. 13 commemorates the victims of the Holocaust through the story of the Jewish Brada family.

The Horácké Museum is housed in the building of the old Renaissance town hall dating from the 16th century. It presents folk culture, glassmaking, ironworking and skiing themes from the northern part of Moravian Horácko. Its notable collections include an unusual collection of ski equipment and ski clothing documenting the development of skis and bindings, the production of the Sport company, and prizes and medals.

The Horácká Gallery is housed in a former Renaissance chateau on Vratislavovo náměstí in Nové Město na Moravě. It features an exhibition on Vincenc Makovský, honouring the important sculptor in his home town and home region. Another exhibition on Jan Štursa offers a cross-section of his work – from his student years and representative works to pieces reflecting his wartime experiences.

The 4-km Příměstský okruh is located in the immediate vicinity of Nové Město na Moravě and is prepared for both classic cross-country skiing and the skating technique. The Vysočina Arena has roller-ski circuits with a total length of 8.5 km, as well as marked running trails ranging from 2 to 13 km.

The Městské lázně municipal baths have a 25-metre swimming pool with four lanes.

The tourist information centre offers guided tours of the town centre, providing information about the town’s history and notable figures. Nové Město na Moravě railway station is located on route 256 between Žďár nad Sázavou, Nové Město na Moravě and Tišnov.
