Velké Janovice: Hotels and accommodations

Velké Janovice stretches along both banks of the Janovický potok stream. The stream rises in the forests above Velké Janovice.

To the west of Velké Janovice lies the Údolí Janovického potoka area. Rare and highly endangered plant species that have largely disappeared from the surrounding landscape have been preserved there. These plants provide a habitat for several rarer insect species. The area was registered as a significant landscape element on October 14, 2005.

The Na jedli mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Velké Janovice. The Kočíko and Librův Kopec mountains are situated around the village, while Babylon mountain lies in the wider regional area.

It is assumed that the Údolí Janovického potoka area will continue to be managed through gentle grazing or that the grasslands will be mown at suitable times.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows has stood in Velké Janovice since 1892. It was last renovated in 2009 and continues to serve religious purposes. A large cross dating from 1863 has been preserved in the immediate vicinity.

The original mill building and the mill mechanism have also been preserved. The mill was decommissioned in 1939.

The Poustevna hermitage was blessed on July 23, 2005, by Vojtěch Cikrle, the thirteenth Bishop of Brno, and belongs to the Dalečín parish. A traditional pilgrimage also takes place in Velké Janovice in August. The buildings of Panský dvůr are still standing today.

The 58-kilometer “Za sportem” route passes through Velké Janovice and runs along paved, surfaced paths as well as field paths. The Jimramovská Circuit of Zubří stezky 8 also reaches Velké Janovice at kilometer 17.
