Landscape
Mount Ostojovka [Ledeč nad Sázavou-Souboř] is located in the vicinity of Bojiště. The hill V Borovinách [Kožlí] is located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Bojiště are the Orlík ruins, Želivský Kláštor Monastery, Mount Špičák, and the churches of Svatá Anna and Svatý Jan.
History and Architecture
The name Bojiště derives from a battle that took place there in 1420. The Church of Saint Adalbert is an early Baroque building set in the middle of an old cemetery. The earliest surviving record of the Church of Saint Adalbert dates from 1560. The altar in the church is a Baroque portal altar, probably created in the workshop of the sculptor and woodcarver Jakub Teplý around 1768. In front of the Church of Saint Adalbert stands a stone cross dating from 1842.
The bell in the chapel in Veliká was made at the Buřil and Riss bell foundry in Kukleny.
Routes
The Posázaví cycling route passes through Veliká, a settlement belonging to the municipality of Bojiště. A marked hiking trail leads from Ledeč via Mstislavice to a lookout tower.
