Culture and History
Boňkov was originally called Bonkow and belonged to Herálec until 1843. A chapel dating from 1875 stands in the village square. On the hill approximately halfway between Boňkov and Skála stands a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
The ruins of Orlík are located in the immediate vicinity of Boňkov. The Želivský Kláštor monastery and the Svatá Anna Church are located in the wider surrounding region.

Boňkovský rybník is designated as a local combined biocentre. The mountains of Špičák, Vysoká and Melechov are located around Boňkov. The hill U kapličky [Boňkov] is also located nearby. Smetanovy sady Park is situated in the wider surrounding region.
Routes
The Čejovský kopec–Úhořilka equestrian trail passes through Boňkov and includes a stop at the Wild Rover ranch riding station at Boňkovský rybník. Along the equestrian trail, the Nohavický potok can be crossed by bridge or ford.
Neither a marked hiking trail nor a marked cycle path passes through Boňkov.
