Klokocov: Hotels and accommodations
Klokočov is situated on the ridge of the Železné hory above the Chrudimka Valley. The Klokočovská linden tree probably served as an important landmark on the medieval Libická trade route.
Landscape and trails
On the section towards the Mladiny trail junction, the “Na procházce po okolí” trail follows a yellow-marked hiking route. From the trail junction, the Na Pilce rock formations can be reached via a blue-marked section of the trail; the hiking destination is about 200 metres farther on. Na Pilce is located in a wooded valley on the Chrudimka near the Seč Reservoir. There is a recreational facility below Klokočov on the Chrudimka. Na Pilce includes a mill wheel.
Nature
The Klokočovská linden tree is a state-protected memorial tree in Klokočov and is considered one of the oldest living trees in Bohemia.
Culture and history
Services are held every Sunday in summer in the Evangelical church building in Klokočov. The Chapel of St. John is a small church building with an apse and a small tower, probably dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Zámeček Klokočov was built in 1789 by Jan Karel Schönowetz from Ungarswert; the entire property can be rented.
