Nature

In the wider regional surroundings of Dolní Cerekev, Přední skála protects remarkable geological and geomorphological features as well as remnants of a mixed forest. The natural monument includes near-natural fir-beech forests, predominantly acidophilous beech forests, numerous cavity-nesting birds and communities dependent on deadwood. Also protected are distinctive formations such as frost cliffs on both sides in the form of rock towers, cryoplanation terraces and partly bowl-shaped or mushroom-shaped rock overhangs, as well as the rock vegetation associated with them.

A rock outcrop near Přední skála is 11 m high and 22 m wide and offers views of the surrounding hills and settlements in the Čeřínek Nature Park. In the wider regional surroundings of Dolní Cerekev, the Čeřínek Educational Trail reaches the rocky summit of the Přední skála Natural Monument at an elevation of 712 m.

Hiking

The 6.5 km-long Čeřínek Educational Trail is a circular route that starts and ends in the same place and can be followed in either direction. Its 14 stations present the geomorphological, botanical and zoological features of the area. The excursion from Dolní Cerekev to Čeřínek is marked with blue and red trail signs.

Culture and History

The museum exhibition of the municipality of Dolní Cerekev is located in the birthplace of the composer Karel Pádivý. The Dolní Cerekev exhibition presents the lives of four notable people from the village: Antonín Ptáček, František Prášil, Karel Pádivý and Blahoslav Smíšovský. The Dolní Cerekev exhibition can be visited by prior arrangement at telephone number 567 315 014.

In Dolní Cerekev, at a crossroads in the built-up part of the village, there is a column with a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene was probably built in the mid-13th century; the original masonry has been preserved in part of the western nave wall up to a height of approximately 4 m.
