Jihlava District: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture

The museum in Třešť presents the area's vanished industries and explains the importance of the Schumpeter family to the town. The Vysočina Jihlava Museum presents the permanent exhibition „Jihlava - město střední Evropy“, which covers the period from the Renaissance to the Industrial Revolution. The museum provides step-free access to its first floor. At Stříbrný dům, a guided tour of the interior includes equipment from a royal mint that was found during renovation work in the courtyard.

Nature

The Zaječí skok Nature Reserve contains the rare rock fern. Čeřínek Nature Park was established to protect a wooded landscape, distinctive geological formations and rare plant and animal species.

The Čeřínek Educational Trail passes the Skalní mísy, Mrazové sruby and Žlábkové škrapy rock formations and the Přední skála Natural Monument. The rocky outcrop of Přední skála offers views over the park. The Čeřínek Educational Trail is a 6.5-kilometre circular route with 14 stations covering local natural conditions and geomorphology.

The museum in Telč presents the long-term exhibition „Křehká krása rašelinišť“, which is divided into three sections.

The Pojmannova Trail is a 6.5-kilometre circular route from Polná to Kukle Pond and back, marked with a yellow hiking symbol. It leads through the forest at Kukle Pond and then through the Obecní les municipal forest. Resting places include Doubravník and a covered seating area on the dam of Kukle Pond.

Leisure

Roštejn Castle has a seven-sided tower offering views of the surrounding landscape. A visit to the castle can include a forest walk with a small geo-exhibition near the entrance to the Roštejnská obora game reserve.

The historic underground known as Jihlavské podzemí offers a guided tour lasting 30–40 minutes, beginning at the underground ticket office at Hluboká 1 in Jihlava. The guided tours are not wheelchair accessible.

In summer, Aquapark Vodní Ráj has outdoor pools and children’s paddling pools with an 85-metre slide, a water castle, a wild-water channel and aquazorbing. All year round, the indoor area offers, among other things, a 108-metre slide, a wild-water channel, a whirlpool, massage jets, waterfalls, a sauna and a steam room.

Městem s ježkem - modrá is a 10-kilometre circular cycling route suitable for children. The route follows the Jihlava River to the Český mlýn Sports and Leisure Centre.
