Třeštice: Hotels and accommodations

The wooden bell tower stands in the center of the village square in Třeštice. It dates from 1863 and is registered as an immovable cultural monument in the central monument register.

Culture and village character

The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua is a building dating from 1939 and dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua. It was built between 1937 and 1939 and consecrated on July 2, 1939. The historicist, single-nave sacred building is oriented in a north–south direction; an integrated prismatic tower is located on its southern side.

A protected cross dating from 1796 stands in the village square near the chapel. A wooden house, also registered as an immovable cultural monument, is located there as well. It stands on a high masonry base and formerly housed a so-called black kitchen. A wayside shrine dating from 1858 was completely restored in 2008. In addition, a statue of a Praga V3S, the legendary “vejtřaska,” was unveiled in Třeštice on September 7, 2013.

Trails and landscape

Cycle route 5123 runs between Sedlejov and Doupě through Třeštice. Blue- and green-marked hiking trails run along the northern edge of the cadastral territory of Třeštice.

The Třešťský potok stream flows along the eastern edge of Třeštice. South of Třeštice, the Třeštický rybník pond lies on the Třešťský potok. The landscape around Třeštice comprises slopes and fields with forests on the horizon.

Transport and event

Bus connections toward Telč and Mrákotín operated from a stop directly in Třeštice. The 20th anniversary of the traditional Javořice Hiking Day took place in Třeštice on May 17, 2026, with the start at 9 a.m. at the fire station; the event was organized by SDH Třeštice.
