Luka nad Jihlavou: Hotels and accommodations

Luka nad Jihlavou Chateau is a two-storey Baroque building constructed between 1739 and 1747 on the site of a dilapidated Renaissance fortress. It is privately owned and closed to the public. It is surrounded by an extensive English landscape park with rare trees. The Baroque Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, built in 1734 at the expense of Countess Anna von Gellhorn, is located in the chateau park. There is also a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from the first half of the 18th century near the chateau.

Culture and history

The monumental late Baroque parish church in Luka nad Jihlavou, with its preserved Romanesque tower façade, was built between 1755 and 1763 on the site of a demolished medieval church. A valuable stone cross was erected at the parish church in 1848 to commemorate the abolition of compulsory labour.

The Luka nad Jihlavou Museum includes an exhibition depicting the ticket office of Luka nad Jihlavou railway station. It displays authentic objects from rural life, including kitchen equipment, furniture, traditional costumes and handicrafts. The museum regularly hosts thematic exhibitions that broaden the perspective on local history and traditions.

Getting around

Luka nad Jihlavou railway station is 200 metres from the ski lift. The Luka nad Jihlavou–Jihlava cycle path is part of the Jihlava–Raabs cycle route.
