Vápovice takes its name from the Vápovka stream and has been documented in writing since 1529.

Culture

The niche chapel of Vápovice has a rectangular ground plan and is listed as a cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 46575/7-5382. Vápovice is also home to the group of memorial trees “Lípy u kapličky”.

The Church of U Svaté Magdalena and the Church of U Svatého Křiže are located in the immediate vicinity of Vápovice. The Church of Svatá Markéta is located in the vicinity of Vápovice. Roštejn Castle [Doupě] lies in the wider regional area.

Nature and landscape

The Vápovka watercourse flows through Vápovice. The “Vápovický r.” pond is located in the northeastern part of the Vápovice area. The surrounding area includes U Obrázku Hill, Hory Hill, Rudný Hill, and Mařenka Hill.

The Vápovice area has only Class II and Class III roads, with low traffic levels. Equestrian trails run through the cadastral area of Vápovice.
