Čelistná lies in a small valley in the western part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, 9 km south of Pelhřimov, and belongs to the Pelhřimovsko-Jih area.

Landscape and Trails

The Troják mountain lies in the vicinity of Čelistná. The surrounding area also includes the Orlov, Bělský Kopec and Putimovský vrch mountains. On the route to Čelistná, the path follows the yellow trail markers along a dirt road through a picturesque valley. A hiking trail also runs through Čelistná.

Culture and History

Janštejn, a ruin, lies in the vicinity of Čelistná. In the wider regional surroundings of Čelistná is Roštejn Castle [Doupě]. The Church of Svatá Anna is also nearby; Želivský Kláštor Monastery belongs to the wider regional surroundings of Čelistná.

The Svornost Theatre Association was founded in Čelistná in 1929. According to reports, some performances took place beside a beech tree estimated to be 300 years old.
