Nature

The Koblížek pond is home to wetland communities. Freshwater reed beds and tall sedges grow along its shore, transitioning into a fen and a wooded wetland area with wet meadows. Koblížek is an existing, functional local biocentre embedded in a supraregional biocorridor. The Koblížek biocentre comprises a small pond next to a cabbage thistle meadow.

History

On May 23, 1922, Matěj Kadlec found 20 gold coins while digging up tree stumps in the Koblížek forest. After Matěj Kadlec reported the find, the gendarmes found a further 456 gold coins at the site. Following the discovery, treasure hunters from the surrounding area searched the Koblížek site; they occasionally found small coins there. A monument at Koblížek commemorates the find made by Matěj Kadlec from Knížata.

Location

The Koblížek pond lies below in the forest of the same name near the settlement of Knížata, close to Těmice. The Drahoňovský Stream flows below the dam of the Koblížek pond. The Koblížek forest is located near a forest road of the same name. A botanical site is recorded near Koblížek, southeast of Knížata.
