Důl: Hotels and Accommodations

Cycle Route No. 321 passes through Důl and runs from Jindřichův Hradec to Louňovice pod Blaníkem. There is also a blue-marked hiking trail and a circular cycling route listed in a route overview.

Trails

Rybník Dolák lies along the main route of Cycle Route No. 321, which connects Kamenice nad Lipou, Pacov, and Načeradec. The blue-marked Pelhřimov–Mladá Vožice hiking trail also passes through Důl.

The list of the 34.6 km circular cycling route “The Beautiful Nature from Pacov to Kámen Castle” mentions a route from Pacov via Důl; Důl is listed as the second stop after Pacov.

Nature

Rybník Dolák lies 800 m north of Důl below a hill, at the turnoff from Pošenská Street to Důl. On hot summer days, it is a popular place for swimming and relaxation. The pond was reconstructed in 2009.

Důl has larger and smaller picturesque private ponds where kingfishers or herons can occasionally be observed. Meadows along the Novodvorský potok line the western side of Důl.

Třešňovka is a revitalized orchard on the hill southeast of Důl in the direction of Vrchy. In addition to cherry trees, pear, plum, and walnut trees were also planted there. The viewpoint “Nad třešňovou alejí” offers a view of Pošná.

Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Důl is one of the municipality’s historic monuments. A stone cross stands approximately 200 m before the Důl sign on the main access road. An iron cross on a stone pedestal is located approximately 50 m before the Důl sign, near a turnoff onto a field road.

Kámen Castle in the municipality of Kámen lies less than 4 km south of Důl. The originally Gothic castle dates back to the 13th century and houses permanent exhibitions of historic motorcycles and of housing and lifestyle in the 19th century.

In the municipality of Nová Ves, the stone railway viaduct is an example of bridge construction from the late 19th century and consists of eleven arched openings. At the same time, it is a distinctive landscape feature.

The ceremonial switching-on of the Christmas lights on Dolská náves is a local tradition in Důl; the event took place in 2024 and 2025.
