Těchobuz: Hotels and accommodations

A specific way to explore Těchobuz is the Po pamětihodnostech Těchobuze educational trail. It consists of two circular routes and combines exploring the town with historical connections.

Culture

The shorter circular route of the educational trail leads through the village and offers insights into historic buildings. Těchobuz Castle is based on a fortress dating from the 14th century. Bernardo Bolzano stayed at the castle from 1823 to 1848.

The Bernardo Bolzano Gallery is located in a former castle barn with a preserved cellar and original structural elements. Bernardo Bolzano used the Bolzanova studánka spring for work and rest. It can be reached from Těchobuz Castle via the Po pamětihodnostech Těchobuze educational trail. According to local legend, Bolzano found the Hoffmanns' lost daughter at the Bolzanova studánka spring.

History

The former school in Těchobuz is a representative Neoclassical building erected in 1823 at the instigation of Bernard Bolzano. The cemetery Church of Saint Mark is a single-nave Gothic church first mentioned as early as 1338; it acquired its present appearance through a distinctive early Baroque renovation.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Těchobuz is a cemetery chapel built in 1826 in the Empire style with a circular floor plan; it served as the Hoffmanns' family crypt. The polygonal, through-accessible timber-frame barn is also part of the architectural heritage. It is a remarkable example of vernacular architecture and a rare monument of this type in the Vysočina Region; it was completely reconstructed in 2013 and 2014.

Nature

The Mozaikou krajiny educational trail connects Těchobuz with the Kozák pond via a blue-marked hiking trail. The educational trail is 2.5 kilometres long and presents the local fauna and flora, as well as the Pacovská pahorkatina, on six information panels.

The castle park in Těchobuz is a 19th-century landscape park with a central hornbeam avenue and an irregular network of paths.
