Vojslavice: Hotels and Accommodations

The remains of Vojslavice Fortress lie approximately 150 meters south of the built-up area, in a wooded area on a rocky spur. An earthen rampart and a wide ditch separate the remains from the surrounding area.

Culture

In the central area of Vojslavice village square stands the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It includes a cemetery and the former vicarage. Between 1721 and 1723, the church was remodeled by J. Santini. Since the 1720s, Vojslavice has been known for pilgrimages dedicated to the Virgin Mary. These were associated primarily with a small statue that the faithful called “Uzdravení nemocných.”

Villagescape

In the northwestern part of Vojslavice village square, a Neoclassical rural peasant homestead with an extensive farm area was built in 1841. The western part of the village square also contains a Neoclassical rural farm complex dating from 1842, which forms a valuable urban-planning component of the built environment.

Landscape

Vojslavice lies on the right bank of the Želivka River. The site of Vojslavice Fortress can be reached from the southwestern edge of the village square via a hollow way and then along the edge of the field to the forest.

Geographical Setting

The unique two-level Vojslavický Bridge spans the Želivka valley near Humpolec in the Vysočina Region. The lower level offers a view of the Švihov Reservoir. Today, a third-class road connecting Vojslavice and Hořice runs across the lower arch bridge of the Vojslavický Bridge, built between 1939 and 1950.
