Zajíčkov: Hotels and accommodations

Zajíčkov lies in the valley of the Podlesník stream. The Křemešník Circle leads from Zajíčkov along a dirt track to the forests, across a stream crossing and through meadows onward to Pavlov.

Trails

On a marked hiking trail, Zajíčkov railway station can be reached from the route at Radňov via the yellow trail marking as a 1 km shortcut. The Křemešnický Circuit II cycling route also follows a clear course in Zajíčkov: at the first house, the route turns onto a dirt track heading towards the forest.

Landscape

Putimovský vrch, a mountain, lies in the immediate vicinity of Zajíčkov. The mountains Troják, Orlov and Lisek are also located nearby. Kosův kámen, a named rock formation, lies on the edge of Zajíčkov, on the side visible from Pelhřimov.

Culture and history

At Water Mill No. 7 in Zajíčkov, an entry dated 10 February 1902 records a shingle machine, a chaff cutter and a threshing machine. Janštejn, a ruin, and Svatá Anna, a church, are also located in the vicinity of Zajíčkov. In the wider regional area are Roštejn [Doupě], a castle, and Želivský Kláštor, a monastery.

Until 1592, Zajíčkov was initially part of the Červená Řečice estate. After its division, the village successively belonged to the Nová Cerekev and Nová Buková estates and finally became part of Pelhřimov in 1592.
