Landscape

Údolí Oslavy a Chvojnice is a nature reserve. In the area of the Oslava and Chvojnice rivers, the most attractive section of the river is a nature reserve; it can be explored via red, blue, and green marked hiking trails.

Several marked hiking trails run through the valleys of the Chvojnice and Oslava rivers in the cadastral area of Březník. Near Březník, a red hiking trail also runs along the Oslava from Náměšť nad Oslavou to Ketkovice.

Since 2003, cycling routes have been signposted in Březník. Various elevated locations around Březník offer panoramic views of the landscape.

Beyond Březník, a field road branches off toward Náměšť nad Oslavou into a picturesque valley where a municipal brickyard operated from 1860 to 1940.

Culture

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Březník is believed to date back to the end of the 12th century and the Romanesque period. The church has three historically valuable bells; the oldest was hung in 1491.

Březník's long-standing traditional cultural and social events include the traditional Hody costume festivals.

The preserved remains of Lamberk Castle lie southwest of Březník on a steep, elongated rocky spur on the left bank of the Oslava. Lamberk Castle fell before 1459.

The memorial to those who fell in Březník was ceremonially unveiled on August 3, 1924.

Getting there

Březník is served by regular bus route 790520 between Náměšť nad Oslavou, Mohelno, and Dukovany. Visitors can use the railway station in Kralice nad Oslavou, which is approximately 3 km from Březník.
