Chotěbudice: Hotels and Accommodation

The municipality is located north of Jemnice and in the southeastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Chotěbudice is therefore associated both with the immediate surroundings of Jemnice and with this landscape unit.

One find indicates that Chotěbudice existed at least 200 years before its first written mention in 1351. During an archaeological investigation in 2008, carried out in connection with the reconstruction of farm roads, fragments of graphite pottery dating from the 11th to the 12th century were discovered.

Archaeological sites of Type II are located in the central part of Chotěbudice. The village is also home to the Chapel of St. Wenceslas, dedicated to Saint Wenceslas. The war memorial to those who fell in the First World War was created by Jaroslav Šlezinger.

Horka is designated as a significant viewpoint in Chotěbudice and is located in the southwestern or western part of the municipality. The settlement of Chotěbudický mlýn stands on the Želetavka River. The Sedliště valley retention reservoir was also built in the municipality, north of the built-up area of Chotěbudice.

Only part of the surroundings of Kukáč Hill is forested. The landscape of Chotěbudice therefore includes both a partially forested hill landscape and the settlement of Chotěbudický mlýn, located on the Želetavka River, as well as the Sedliště valley retention reservoir built north of the built-up area.

The Jihlava–Třebíč–Raabs cycling route passes through Chotěbudice. The cycling loop “Around the Mills on the Moravian Dyje to the Royal Town of Jemnice” also runs via Dačice – Staré Hobzí – Jemnice – Chotěbudice – Budíškovice – Bílkov – Dačice.
