Chlum: Hotels and Accommodations

The landmark of Chlum is the Early Baroque Church of Saint Wenceslas, founded by the abbot of Třebíč around 1300. It preserves Gothic masonry from the first half of the 14th century. In 1784 and 1785, it was extensively raised and vaulted; the windows were modified, and the church was expanded with a sacristy, a bell tower, and a vestibule.

The history of the village also includes the ruins of Bransouze Castle. They are located in the cadastral territory of Chlum nad Jihlavou, but belong to the village of Bransouze on the opposite bank of the Jihlava. Based on the surviving fortification structure, it is interpreted as a single-part castle site with a residential platform. The castle site is situated on an unforested, sloping spur above the left bank of the Jihlava. The residential platform is approximately the shape of a sector of a right-angled circle, with a cathetus length of about 25 meters. The archaeological site of Bransouze Castle lies in the cadastral territory of Chlum and is listed twice as a cultural monument under different numbers.

Větrák is a local attraction featuring a 7-meter-deep and 3-meter-wide well beneath a wind-pump structure. The well is lined with stones from Bílá skála; an information board stands next to it. Pavlovský Mill is a rural-type mill on the Chlumský stream and was built at the end of the 18th century. Another historic building is the farmstead in Chlum, built in 1848 on a slope above the deep valley of the Jihlava. It consists of a single-story residential building with richly stucco-decorated façades and farm buildings enclosing a courtyard, and is considered a valuable example of the folk architecture of Podhorácko.

The Jihlava–Třebíč–Raabs cycle route passes through Chlum. Its section between Jihlava and Třebíč runs mostly along the Jihlava. A blue-marked hiking trail also runs through the vicinity of Chlum. A nearby swimming reservoir is located northwest of the Church of Saint Wenceslas.
