History
Horní Heřmanice was first mentioned in 1447 under the historical name Superius Herzmanicze. From 1563 onward, Heřmanice, together with Velké Meziříčí, was under the same lordship.
In the center of Horní Heřmanice, a small chapel with a cross stands between two linden trees. Horní Heřmanice also has a memorial stone with a relief of a Greek cross. The memorial stone has an irregular triangular ground plan.
Horní Heřmanice has a registered cultural monument in the form of a crucifix.
Landscape
The Horní Heřmanice area belongs to the Třebíčsko-Velkomeziříčsko landscape character area. Within the municipality, the Třebíčsko landscape character area is designated, featuring a diverse landscape mosaic, syenite rocks, and block-like islands.
“View of the municipality” is designated as a notable viewpoint overlooking Horní Heřmanice. The southern part of the Horní Heřmanice administrative area belongs to Třebíčsko Nature Park.
The Hradiště Hill, Panský kopec Hill, Čechtínský kopec Hill, and Kopaniny Hill are located in the vicinity of Horní Heřmanice.
Cycling Routes
Beyond Horní Heřmanice, the cycling trip follows a blue-marked hiking trail leading into the Balínské Valley.
On the cycling trip to Velké Meziříčí, after turning off from Cycle Route 5112, the route continues straight at an intersection toward Bochovice and Horní Heřmanice. The cycling trip to Velké Meziříčí, which leads toward Horní Heřmanice, is 54.6 km long.
